Brownsville police reported that 52‑year‑old bicyclist Jesse Nector Torres was killed after his bike collided with a northbound Jeep Compass on the 2500 block of Tulipan Street on Sunday, Oct. 11, at about 4:14 p.m. Witnesses said Torres failed to stop at a stop sign and fell, after which the Jeep ran over him.
