Household garbage is collected twice a week by Republic Services, Inc. No specific days are listed. Residents should place their bins at the curb on the scheduled collection days.
Brush and bulky items (tree trimmings, appliances, etc.) may be placed in the street in front of the residence from the 25th through the last day of each month. Republic Services picks them up on the first three workdays of the month; placing items after the last day can result in fines under Ordinance 12‑16. Commercial accounts must arrange pickup directly with Republic Services.
Recycling is provided by the Environmental Health Services Department in partnership with Republic Services every Saturday from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 4501 Padre Blvd. Accepted materials include brown or gray cardboard, newspaper, aluminum cans, plastics #1 and #2, clean plastic bags, mixed office paper, ink cartridges, batteries, tin, and damaged U.S. flags.
